Jimmy Rogers was born and raised in Brooklyn, joined the Air Force and later attended Tuskegee University in Alabama where he became active in SNCC Civil Rights actions. He was an eyewitness to the killing of Jonathan Daniels just moments after they were released from the local jail for protesting.
